The Villandro Alp in the Eisack Valley is one of the most beautiful and popular alpine pastures in South Tyrol and is one of the largest high alpine pastures in Europe.
At an altitude of 1750 m, countless circular walks start which you can undertake all year round, and in winter also very popular for snow walks and cross-country skiing.
Experience this natural spectacle up close and you will be surprised every day again how varied and colourful the alpine pasture is during this time. You will also have no rare encounter during these months at higher altitudes with snow, which tries to resist the spring.
It is getting hot and the hay harvest on the surrounding alpine meadows is coming. The right time to escape from the heat of the city and move to higher altitudes. Around the Rinderplatz there are beautiful paths that lead you through coniferous forest and over specially built wooden bridges. All those who brave the heat can go for a walk in the large area of the Villandro Alp.
You will receive hiking suggestions from us directly on-site.
The season with the most sunny days – enjoy autumnal flair and absolute tranquillity in the midst of nature in the Sarentino Alps. The unforgettable view of the opposite Dolomites with particularly clear views is an absolute highlight.
The flat high plateau is ideal for cross-country skiing (ross-country ski trail directly in front of the Rinderplatz Hütte), tobogganing, snowshoeing and winter hiking - Both on the groomed slopes and in the natural deep snow you will quickly find your way around and can spend your leisure time in a very varied way. In this respect we differ especially from the hectic and crowded ski areas.
Equipment for winter sports is available directly at the car park at the Villandro Alp rental service.
